Dear Friends,

It is my great honor to be named Minister of Finance of Ukraine. I am deeply grateful for the support of President Poroshenko, Prime Minister Yatsenyuk, the Verkhovna Rada and the Ukrainian people. Proud to be a member of this new professional, technocratic government, while fully cognizant of the fact that we enter into this Cabinet of Ministers at the most difficult time in Ukraine’s recent 23 year history of independence. The illegal annexation of Crimea, the war in eastern Ukraine, the continued recession and economic decline, all taken together pose the largest challenge. We are committed to taking serious and radical actions to stabilize the country’s financial system, to improve conditions for entrepreneurship and business, as well as to fight corruption. Transparency, a level playing field, and efficient government that serves its people make up our common vision.
