Religion in Ukraine — Putin the Uniter?

A recent piece in The Economist, which has provided some of the most consistently excellent reporting on Ukraine throughout the crisis, was entitled “Putin the Uniter.” The article focuses on the effect Putin’s policies have had on public opinion in Ukraine. One example: “In September 2013, just before the Maidan revolution, 88% of Ukrainians felt “positively” about Russia. By May 2015, that number had fallen to 30% and would be a lot lower if it excluded people in the rebel-held south-east.”
